About the event
THE TEMPEST
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Sean Croft
A storm. A shipwreck. An island that doesn’t want you to leave. Fourth Monkey’s The Tempest throws you into a contemporary style of this classical season. A rusted and rotting world where a betrayed man plots revenge, a lost king’s son stumbles into love, and the island’s strange creatures have their own ideas. Expect puppets, clowns and bodies in flight, all wildly funny one moment and heartbreaking the next. This is Shakespeare’s final masterpiece, reimagined as a show within a show within a show, packed with live sound and raw physical theatre. Fearless actors. A world falling apart. Step ashore, if you dare.
