About the event
HENRY V
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Anna Blackburn
KING HENRY V
A kingdom on fire. A storm gathering. A crown. A claim. A war.
England is divided. France is within reach. A young king invades France to seize a throne he
believes is his by right. What follows is a brutal campaign of blood, betrayal and beastliness,
culminating in the fields of Agincourt, where a vastly outnumbered army is driven to the edge of
destruction.
This is King Henry V stripped to the bone: fast, physical and savage. Heroism and brutality
collide in a visceral, relentless world, where glory and brutality are inseparable, where victory
has a price, and where the making of a king demands the making of a monster.
