About the event
[ BLANK ] is no traditional play, it’s a series of 60 scenes about adults and children impacted by the criminal justice system It is a theatrical provocation. A blueprint. Theatre-makers are encouraged to sculpt a performance from the 60 scenes included. There is no single definitive narrative, no correct order and no incorrect order.
Before she began writing [ BLANK ], Alice Birch undertook a week’s residency at the former Holloway Women’s Prison. She was struck by the impact the criminal justice system had on families and how, often, children are the silent victims of crime. Our version of [ BLANK ] is about what life is like when adults feel absent from it.
