Actor training for the modern industry

We have created a training programme to give you all the tools you will need as a modern working actor. No homework, no essays; just you, on your feet learning the skills you will need as a professional performer. Our actors learn how they can harness the power of their breath, body and voice to tell stories, create characters and generate impactful performances.

Year of the Monkey

Designed for those embarking on their acting journey, returning to the industry or indeed those changing career, the Year of the Monkey programme creates a diverse, collaborative environment in which to explore what is an intensive year-long actor training programme. The course is structured to enable accessibility and experiential development across a full twelve month training cycle in acting technique, movement and voice as well as the collaborative process of theatre making. Upon completion of the programme graduates are well positioned to take their next steps within the arts, whether that be further training or stepping out into the industry as an actor or theatre maker.

Fourth Monkey really taught me to understand how to use the tools I was born with to express myself – like my body and voice. I often find myself in situations where I refer back to the knowledge acquired during training at Fourth Monkey whether that be in movement lessons, voice classes or when studying individual unique practitioners.
