YOU’LL EXPERIENCE OUR UNIQUE TEACHING APPROACH AND WORK IN A FOURTH MONKEY ENSEMBLE REHEARSAL ROOM.

Monkey Method gives you the space to flex your acting muscles; working to find true embodiment of text, follow physical impulses and hone your craft through honest emotional connection in an inclusive and welcoming ensemble environment.

THE BODY & BAMBOO

An exploration of the Fourth Monkey body first approach through Primary Mover exercises, bamboo and partner work.

THE BAMBOO & TEXT

With bamboo and text, you’ll work in pairs through Meisner-inspired physical repetition exercise.

PLAYING IN SPACE

The Fourth Monkey Carousel. Exploring the deeper layers of the scene; looking at relationships, the use of space and how it impacts the work.

FINDING THE NEED

Working with a partner and as an ensemble, you’ll explore what the character truly needs from the scene; preventing over-intellectualisation and focussing on the simple act of the ‘need’.

EMOTION IN MOTION

Working in pairs, participants work to explore the emotional drivers of the scene. The final pieces are shared in front of the room and guided to explore alternative choices and impulsive options to keep the work fresh.
