Fourth Monkey are delighted to announce it will be transferring The Peculiar Tale of Pablo Picasso and the Mona Lisa to the Brockley Jack Studio following it’s successful premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe. The production runs from the 11th February-1st March 2014.

The Peculiar Tale of Pablo Picasso and the Mona Lisa is a new piece of writing by Steve Green, concerning Picasso’s infamous, yet widely unknown arrest in association with the theft of the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in 1911.

Set in Paris, the play farcically explores Picasso’s early years as a struggling artist culminating in his humiliating arrest for a crime he did not commit. Exploring the advent of cubism, surrealism and the arrival of one of the twentieth century’s most prolific artistic talents The Peculiar Tale of Pablo Picasso and the Mona Lisa offers an original and creative take on the most formative period in Picasso’s life and subsequent notoriety.
