Two Day Course

Learn key rehearsal room techniques with National Theatre Connections Director, Shane Dempsey.

 

Course Description

This hands-on workshop for actors and emerging directors will explore key approaches to rehearsal. We will work through the process of preparation, casting, working with actors and helping articulate the director’s unique voice.

Tutor: Shane Dempsey

Shane Dempsey is an Irish Director working in London and beyond. He trained at the National Theatre Studio and E15 Acting School. He was Staff Director to Ian Rickson on his production of Translations by Brian Friel, (National Theatre). He is currently a National Theatre Connections Director. His recent work includes the critically acclaimed Continuity (Finborough), About Last Night, Seven Jewish Children (Arcola), 13, LOL (Clifftown Theatre), The Non-Stop Connolly Show (Finborough), The Master and Margarita (Bussey Building and Te Pooka Edinburgh), The Bay (Theatre503, The Space and Te Pooka, Edinburgh) and The Girl In The Box (Clifftown Theatre, Southend-on-Sea and RADA Studios).
