Contract: Permanent, full-time
Working Hours: Fourth Monkey works to a 40 hour working week. Standard office hours are 9am – 5.30pm, but there may be some requirement to work outside of these hours.

Fourth Monkey is an actor training school and producing theatre company like no other. We pride ourselves on developing actors from diverse backgrounds and imbuing them with a very real sense of what a career in the performing arts entails. Throughout their training they live and work as part of a performing company, developing the emotional depth and personal resilience needed to succeed in the industry. At the same time, our professional touring company, The Monkey Ensemble gives students the opportunity to profile themselves to the broader industry whilst also producing challenging contemporary work. We’ve grown rapidly over the last 7 years. In 2015 we moved into a specially renovated site in Finsbury Park with extensive rehearsal, training and studio space.

We are now looking to recruit a talented Courses Manager and Welfare Officer who will be responsible for the administrative day-to-day running of the Fourth Monkey Actor Training Programmes in support of the Director of Training, the Heads of Courses and their team of freelance arts practitioners. The Courses Manager and Welfare Officer will also be the primary point of contact for the student body and their pastoral needs.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, proactive and focused Manager with the experience and ability to multi-task in a dynamic and often busy working environment. Managing the day-to-day admin in support of the Director of Training in relation to staffing, student records, timetables and attainment whilst being the initial point of contact for the student body during their time at Fourth Monkey. They will have experience and understanding of student welfare management and needs and will be confident in the implementation of procedures in support of the students training experience whilst seeking out appropriate support when required.

The main focus of the role will be to support the Director of Training, as part of their management team in the smooth running and delivery of Fourth Monkey’s highly regarded professional actor training programmes. In addition, using excellent communication skills and brand awareness, the post holder will also be a primary point of contact for admission enquiries, undertaking an ambassadorial role in the recruitment process of new students by means of clear, efficient communication from application right through to first day of term.

We are looking for a talented Head of Course who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Fourth Monkey Actor Training Two Year Rep Accelerated Actor Training Programme in support of the Director of Training and their team of freelance arts practitioners.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, proactive and focused manager with the experience and ability to multi-task in a dynamic and often busy working environment. They will manage and oversee the students development and progression through training in relation to their learning and developmental needs. The Head of Course will be an exceptional and motivational mentor and arts professional with a broad industry understanding, awareness and a meticulous attention to detail.

They will have experience and understanding of student welfare management and needs and will be confident in the implementation of procedures in support of the students training experience whilst seeking out appropriate support when required.

The main focus of the role will be to support the Director of Training, as part of their management team in the smooth running and delivery of Fourth Monkey’s highly regarded professional actor training programme. In addition, they will work with the Director of Training in developing the training where necessary in response to contemporary industry needs and practices to ensure the course retains its status as a forerunner in contemporary actor training.

The role of Head of Course suits a confident and driven arts professional with an educational background, who possesses the excellent communication and motivational skills and attention to detail required to thrive within the role. A manager, with a passion for the arts who is looking to work within a supportive and collaborative working environment as part of the core team alongside the Director of Training.
