Closing Date: 9th September 2018

Fourth Monkey is an actor training school and producing theatre company like no other. We pride ourselves on developing actors from diverse backgrounds and imbuing them with a very real sense of what a career in the performing arts entails. Throughout their training they live and work as part of a performing company, developing the emotional depth and personal resilience needed to succeed in the industry. At the same time, our professional touring Ensemble gives our alumni the opportunity to profile themselves to the broader industry whilst also producing challenging contemporary work. We’ve grown rapidly over the last 7 years and in 2015 we moved into a specially renovated site in Finsbury Park with extensive rehearsal, training and studio space.

We are now looking to recruit a highly skilled, experienced and above all ambitious Development Manager who will take responsibility for developing and implementing the fundraising elements of our income generation strategy.

The role will focus on securing grants from charitable trusts and foundations, lottery distributors and statutory sources, whilst also looking to develop new corporate partnerships as a secondary income stream along with private giving and scholarship provision to support our students with their training objectives. There will also be the scope to explore and develop other fundraising initiatives in the fullness of time.

The role would suit someone with a good knowledge of the Arts fundraising landscape, with the ability to cultivate relationships and develop the support we receive from individuals, trusts & foundations, and companies. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a keen understanding of the grant giving landscape with a track record of crafting well structured and compelling funding proposals coupled with experience of corporate and other fundraising disciplines. The successful applicant will work closely with the Chief Executive/Executive Director to create and deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy.

In return we offer you the opportunity to make your mark on the cultural sector. Working as part of a creative, but supportive team, you will be responsible for developing and leading our fundraising strategy, instilling a fundraising mindset across the whole organisation and developing new and exciting programmes of work. In doing so you will enable us to transform the face of the performing arts in the UK; making it a more diverse, vibrant and culturally relevant art form for all.
